Lady Julia Osei Tutu, the wife of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Tuesday, consoled her husband with traditional gold necklace called “AWISIADO” in Asante local parlance, as part of the final funeral rites of the late Queen Mother of Asanteman, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
This was in accordance to sixth day rites, that require the wife of the king to present him with Awisiado on the sixth day of the funeral of his mother.
The Asantehene also sat in a state and distribute palm wine as part of the sixth day tradition; and also received sympathizers and donations at the Dwabrem Forecourt at the Manhyia Palace.
The final funeral rites for the late queen mother started from December 1 and will finish December 15, 2017.
