Liberia Elections: Weah still lead with only 34 percent votes in

The Chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC) of Liberia, Mr Jerome Korkoya Friday announced more Preliminary results from the 10th October general elections.

In the presidential race, candidate George Weah of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is leading with 39.6% followed by Joseph Boakai of ruling Unity Party with 31.1%.

Candidate Brumskine of the Liberty Party is third with 9.3%; Cummings of ANC follows with 6.7%, former war lord Prince Yormie Johnson is 5th with 4.8%, and the only female candidate Madella Cooper is 8th with 0.8% of the 33.71 per cent or 547,965 votes processed so far.

Twenty presidential candidates from 17 political parties and three independent candidates took part in the polls with 2.18 million registered voters.
