Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta is thankful of a visionary leader like President Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the President has inspired them especially at the Finance Ministry “to see the invisible to feel the intangible and achieve the impossible”.
Mr. Ofori-Atta revealed this while delivering the 2018 budget statement to Parliament on Wednesday November 15, 2017.
According to him, their prudent management of the economy under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo is yielding positive results.
He said provisional data on the performance of the economy this year suggests that all macroeconomic indicators are on target.
“We are witnessing a return to robust growth after 2016 recorded the lowest growth performance in almost two decades” he opined.
The Finance Minister said inflation continued to decline in 2017 mainly on account of exchange rate stability, tight monetary policy and fiscal consolidation.
He noted that, interest rates in 2017 continued to decline in response to the gradual improvement in the macroeconomic fundamentals.
Ken Ofori-Atta said the 2018 budget which is ‘ Putting Ghana to work’ requires all hands on deck to accelerate Ghana’s development.
